McGlowan worked for Chairman Rupert Murdochs News Corporation as director of government affairs and diversity development from 1999 to 2005, where he was in charge of developing and implementing aggressive diversity initiatives across the Fox Entertainment Group and its owned and operated businesses. McGlowan was born and raised in the suburbs of Oxford, Mississippi by a native white-American father and an African-American mother.
